Alice J. Rugg

Alice J. Rugg, 77 of Scottdale, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born November 26, 1946 in Everson a daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Zajac) Dziurzynski.

Alice was a member of the partner parish of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale where she was a longtime member of the church choir. Music and singing in the choir brought her much joy. She attended the former St. Joseph Catholic School, Everson and was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1964. Alice endured a lengthy health battle of 17 years, but her fierce spirit and faith sustained her through it all. 

She is survived by her son, Derek Robinson; her daughter, Shelley Minnick and her husband Adam; and her siblings, Dolores Rega, Marion Dziurzynski (Maryann); Irene White, Eugene Dziurzynski and Patty Brant and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard, Stanley and Clarence.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale where Prayers will be offered at 9:30 am Tuesday followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. John the Baptist RC Church with Rev.
