Caroline Richter

Caroline C. Richter, 89 of Dunbar Township, passed away, Monday, April 29, 2019 in the Uniontown Hospital.  She was born February 7, 1930 in Dickerson Run a daughter of the late Evans and Nora (Upton) Wilson.

Caroline was a homemaker tending to the needs of her family.  For many years, she worked along-side her late husband James L. Richter, raising cattle, gardening, baking, canning and cooking.  While she was proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, you could always count on Caroline to give her honest opinion. She never missed an opportunity when asked to go shopping and enjoyed many phone conversations with her family and friends.

She is survived by her six children, Harold G. “Jack” Richter (Nancy); Bertha Bodkin; James E. Richter; Diane Romanko (David); Jeffrey Richter (Sally Baker); and Rhonda Winterhalter (Adam); 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters; Ray Wilson (Judy); Wayne Wilson (Joanne); Gladys Fabian (Frank); Thelma Richter (the late Thomas); Verna Grego (Ronald); Gary Wilson (Patty) and Larry Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed the companionship of her feline friend, Freddy who kept her company.

In addition to her parents and her step-mother, Viola (Shultz) Wilson, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James L. Richter (August 29, 1983); a granddaughter, Amanda Bodkin; a son-in-law, Andrew Lackemacher; a sister, Edna Chapman.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St, Scottdale where additional visitation will take place Friday from 10 until 11 am the hour of her funeral service.   Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.  To share a message of sympathy, please visit www.gjfuneral.com
