Chalmer Knipple

Chalmer L. “Nip” Knipple, 87 of Scottdale passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at his home.  He was born August 27, 1935 in Mt. Pleasant a son of the late Chalmer E. and Mary Ann (Babura) Knipple.

Nip retired from Anchor Hocking Corporation with 35 years’ service.  He was a veteran of the US Navy serving as a medic and a member of the Fleet Marines. He was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1953 and was a longtime member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist Church where he was a faithful usher and former member of the Holy Name Society.  In his retirement, Nip was a valued member of the staff at Graft-Jacquillard Funeral & Cremation Services where he served as a funeral attendant.

He is survived by his son, Douglas Knipple and his wife Angie; his brother Edward E. Knipple and his brother in law, William Szczekoski.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann (Szczekoska) Knipple on August 7, 2016.

Honoring his request, there will be no public services.  Interment will take place in St. John the Baptist RC Cemetery, Scottdale.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, 416 S.
