Cherie Pinskey

Cherie Pinskey, of Scottdale, passed away on December 6, 2024, at the age of 69, surrounded by her beloved family at home. She was born with her twin sister, on April 27, 1955 in Hagerstown, MD a daughter of the late Norma “Joan” and John Phillips.

Cherie married Andrew Pinskey, Jr. on September 20, 1978 and they raised their family in Scottdale. She is survived by her husband, Andy; her daughter, Kristen (Nate) Savanick; her son, Andy III; two granddaughters, Julia and Emily Savanick; her siblings: her best friend and twin sister, Cheryl Falla, brother Doug Phillips and brother David Phillips.

Cherie’s love will always be felt by her brothers and sisters-in-law, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Cherie was an avid reader; she could always be found with a book near by. She enjoyed crafting, putting together jigsaw puzzles and had an unparalleled ability to complete crossword puzzles. Her absolute best joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her children and granddaughters. Cherie worked very hard in her role as a mother, as an employee of the Independent Observer newspaper and retired from Walmart, Mt. Pleasant after 21 years’ service.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale where a funeral service will be held on Sunday at 5 pm. The family would like to thank the UPMC Hillman Center and nurse, Kimberly and Independence Hospice and nurse Daryanne for the care they provided Cherie.
