Daniel Miller

Daniel B. Miller, 67 of Scottdale, born June 2, 1951 passed away peacefully at Excela Latrobe Hospital on September 5, 2018. He was the son of the late Archie and Alice Miller of Indian Head and was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Miller.

A 1969 graduate of Connellsville Area HS, Dan was a lifelong and well-known carpenter and contractor. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Bridgeport Sportsman’s Club and the Scottdale Moose Lodge. His grandchildren referred to him as Pap Pap Birdie because of his love of birds, especially Birdie and Hoodie.

He is survived by his brother, Timothy Miller and wife Shelley; sister Sandra Ulery and husband Gary; sister Jill Oplinger and husband Todd and his children, Chad and Hollie Miller; Erin Kaufmann and husband Mark; and Jennifer E.L. Miller; along with the loving mother of his children, Linda Miller. Pap Pap Birdie also leaves behind his four grandchildren; Joshua Winiarski, Abigale Miller, Chad Miller and Sarah Kaufmann.  Along with many family and friends, Dan also leaves behind his close friend, Ricki Peachy Gallo.

The family extends a special thanks to Mark Bartley for his kindness, generosity and years of friendship before and during his lengthy illness.
