Donald Ray Kropp, 76, of Hermitage, PA, formerly of Everson, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014, at Sharon Regional Health System surrounded by his family, after a valiant battle with cancer. Don was born February 26, 1938, at Old Meadow in East Huntingdon Township, a son of the late Irvin and Elizabeth (Santmyer) Kropp.
He was married to the love of his life of 54 years, Alyce L. (Thompson) Kropp. Don was a devoted father and grandfather. He was previously employed at Anchor Hocking Glass, Modulus, Holokrome and AT&G. He traveled to Europe and Turkey on business. He was a long time member of the Everson Evangelical Church where he served for many years and was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1956. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and competition archery before retiring. His passions after retirement were golfing, hockey, and cooking for his family.
Don will be greatly missed by his loving family; his wife, Alyce; his three children, Wanda L. Simpson and her husband Don of Hopwood; Bonnie S. Marrone and her husband Gary of Hermitage; Donald R. Kropp, Jr. and his wife Mollie of Fairfax, VA; his three granddaughters, Rachael Sunyak and her husband Jacob, Tori Simpson and Nicole Marrone; his sisters Martha "Jane" Crouse and her husband Merle; Dolores "Cup" Crossland and her husband, William; his brother Irvin Kropp, Jr. and his wife Sheila. He had numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Szwed and Frances Davis.
Family and friends are welcome at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale on Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 am with Pastor Kenny Rockwell officiating.
