Donna Jean Russell, 78, of Scottdale, passed away, Monday, September 14, 2015 in Excela Latrobe Hospital. She was born July 26, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant a daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Crossland) Russell.
Donna Jean retired from Burns Drug Store, Scottdale, where she was employed for over 30 years. She was a longtime and faithful member of the partner parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale where she volunteered in many ways over the years. She loved her hometown of Scottdale, and following her retirement she remained active as a member of the Scottdale Senior Citizens, visiting local casinos, as well as, an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Penguins and Penn State.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, William and James Crossland, Joseph and Richard Russell and a sister, Nancy Sucanic.
She is survived by two sisters, Sarah Minick and Connie Paglio; a sister in law, Jane Crossland all of Mt. Pleasant; numerous nieces and nephews and the Gatti family whom she considered her extended family, especially, Anna Marie and Sophia.
Honoring, Donna Jean's wishes a private visitation will be held for the family at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Friday at 11 am in the partner parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church with Rev. Richard Kosisko, as celebrant.
