Frank Tartal, 68, of Scottdale, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, September 25, 2014 at his home. He was born June 8, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant a son of the late Andrew and Helen (Hardik) Tartal.
Frank retired from Green Acres Contracting where he had been employed as a yard foreman. He was a veteran of the US Navy during Vietnam and was a member of St. Pius X R.C. Church, Mt. Pleasant where he was a member of the golf league. Frank also enjoyed watching old movies and sporting events.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne (Cook) Tartal; his three children, Lori Ann Tartal; Matthew David Tartal and his wife Heidi; and Nicole H. Cote and her husband Matt; two grandchildren, Kyle and Morgan; a sister, Shirley McMaster and husband Barry; two brothers, Al Gendek and wife Dorothy and John Tartal; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores and Margaret.
Frank's family will host a gathering of relatives and friends on Sunday from noon-3 pm and 6 to 8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 am in St. Pius X R.C. Church, 216 Spruce St. Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Richard Kosisko as celebrant. (Those attending are asked to please go directly to the church Monday). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
