George E. Grega, 92 of Scottdale, passed away, Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Excela Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born May 2, 1928 in Jamison a son of the late John and Mary (Rusnock) Grega.
George retired from General Motors-Fisher Body with 40 years’ service. He was a longtime and active member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale where he was a dedicated member of the Church choir. He also sang with the Scottdale Choral Society. George enjoyed painting and had been a member of the Laurel Art Club. Additionally, he was a veteran of the US Army.
Surviving is his loving family, including his wife, Mary Ann (Rolko) Grega, two sons, George Grega of Scottdale and John Grega and his wife, Laurie of Lewis Center, Ohio; two grandsons, J.T. Grega and Joshua W. Grega and his wife, Ellie, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Winter and Ann Stinebiser, four brothers, Joseph, Stephen, Andrew and Paul Grega and two infant siblings, Mary and John.
A private visitation for the family will be followed by his funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist RC Church with the Rev. Elmer Alforque as celebrant. Interment will take place in Visitation Church Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
