Jacqueline J. Huff, 88, of Scottdale went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 18. She was born August 1, 1928 in Connellsville a daughter of the late Thomas and Nettie (Whipkey) Reese.
She was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1946 and early in her working career was employed by Penn Line Service as a payroll clerk. In 1947, she married Jack W. Huff in the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Owensdale. While working for Westinghouse, Jacque became an ordained minister of the Gospel Greater Works Academy, Monroeville, in April of 1985. Every day after her duties at Westinghouse, Jacque would visit with patients in the local hospitals. She retired from Westinghouse Corp in 1988, when she and her husband Jack returned to Scottdale. On December 26, 1986 she received her diploma from the Institute of Children’s Literature. She wrote 14 children’s books, from which all profits were donated to help in the construction of the new Scottdale Library in 2008. In 2007, Jacque became involved in Prison Ministry. On January 1, 2010 she began publishing a monthly newsletter, ”The Sentinel-Guardian of God’s Holy Word-The Bible” which were sent to men and women prisoners in seven correctional facilities throughout Pennsylvania and one in Virginia. She was very active in the Scottdale Church of Christ where she taught the Co-Strivers Class. Additionally, she visited Hempfield Towers where she spread the Good News. Jacque was most happy when she could preach to others about Jesus and His love for all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Lynn Huff and a brother, Ernest Reese.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jack W. Huff; a daughter, Janine Joyce Rutherford; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Saturday, April 29 at 11 am in the Scottdale Church of Christ 215 N. Chestnut St, Scottdale with Pastor Rick Phillips and Bob Chambers co-officiating. Private interment will take place in the Scottdale Cemetery.
