James A. Banko, 62 of Dickerson Run, passed away unexpectedly, and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Jim was born May2, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant a son of the late Walter P. and Elizabeth (Kapura) Banko.
Jim was a self-employed contractor operating the James A. Banko Construction Company. He was an avid hunter and he enjoyed Sudoku and crossword puzzles. He was also a member of the Vanderbilt Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Banko; a brother in law, James Heisterman and his father and mother in law, Samuel and Pauline Porterfield.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn D. (Heisterman) Banko, a step-son, Robert Younkin and wife Penny; three brothers, Walter Banko and wife Linda; Donald Banko and wife Saundra and Roger Banko and wife Sandy; brothers-in- law, William (Sara) Heisterman, Arthur and John Heisterman and Ralph (Sharon) Heisterman, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome Friday from 4 to 8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 am with Minister Greg Pelc officiating.
