Judith “Judy” Ann (Grimm) Shaw, 81, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Tarrs, died peacefully at her home on Friday, January 20, 2023. She was born on June 4, 1941 in Alverton, the daughter of the late Paul G. and Dorothy S (Shawley) Grimm.
She was a lifetime member of the Center Bethel Church of God in Alverton. Judy worked alongside her cousin John “Mike” Beltz, for many years in his restaurant business. She lived to serve others, whether at work, as a volunteer or with her family. Judy was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family. Judy was a sports enthusiast. She enjoyed watching the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins, but her favorite team was whoever her grandchildren played for.
Judy leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Patrick, of Jersey City, NJ, her daughters, Hope (Brett) Mailloux, of Scottdale, and Shannon (Jason) Hutter, of Mount Pleasant; her 10 grandchildren, Spencer (Sam), Tyler (Tasha), Matthew (Kelsey), and Ethan Smith, Parker Mailloux, Justin Shaw, Meghan (Jeremy) Simms, Hannah, Ian and Kara Hutter; and her two great granddaughters, Lilly Shaw and Olive Smith; her daughter-in-law, Denise Shallenberger; and her beloved dog, Rosie. She is also survived by her sisters, Paulette Dunton and Dorothy Sullenberger, and brother, Daniel Grimm; and cousins, John “Mike” Beltz and Heidi Fox.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her grandson, Beckett Mailloux; her sister and best friend, Sarah “Polly” Grimm, brothers, Paul G. Grimm Jr., Franklin M. Grimm, Thomas D. Grimm, and sister, Mary Jane Hyde.
There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 1 to 2 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale where her memorial service will be held at 2 pm with Chaplain Steve Hospodar officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Personalized Patient Goals Program of Bridges Hospice. The family would like to give many thanks to Lori, Kristina, Maura, Steve, Bridget, and Michele of Bridges Hospice for the loving care they provided to Judy. An extra special thanks to her “partner in crime” and son-in-law, Jason, for always going above and beyond for Judy. Online condolences are welcome at www.gjfuneral.com
