Mabel Mae (Ulery) Hesson, 88, a long time Scottdale resident, passed peacefully on March 9, 2023, at Valley View Retirement Home in Belleville, Pa.
Mabel loved Scottdale and had many friends and acquaintances over the years. She spent her employment years at Burns Drug Store, Screw & Bolt, and finally retired from Frick Hospital. She graduated from Hurst High School in 1952. She was previously married to Karl Hesson. They had two sons, Daryl, and Gary. Mabel was a member of the Mt Pleasant Church of God and a long-time member of the Hallmark Club.
Mabel was born October 8, 1934 in Owensdale, the daughter of the late Alva E and Hattie Brown Ulery and is preceded in death by them as well as infant siblings Geraldine and William and adult siblings Gerald, Glenn, and Regina Hayes.
Surviving children are Daryl (Patricia) of Palm Harbor, Fl, and Gary (Teresa) of Lewistown, Pa. Additional survivors: brother, Dale (Joyce); Fred Hayes (Regina, deceased) and Ruby Ulery (Glenn, deceased), several Hesson family members with whom she remained close; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, on Saturday, March 25 from 10 until 11 am followed by her Memorial Service at 11 am with Pastor Rob Allison.
