Michael J. Linko, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Saturday, February 01, 2014 at his home. He was born July 29, 1926 in Scottdale the loving son of the late John and Elizabeth (Tkac) Linko.
Mike retired from General Motors Fisher Body Division, McKeesport as a supervisor. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Connellsville and was a World War II veteran serving in the Fifth Army Air Force. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post 446 and the Mt. Pleasant Social Club.
He is survived by a step-sister, Mary Childs of N. Olmsted, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Peter Sulkowski; a brother, John Linko; his sisters, Anna Zylka, Mary Havash, Betty Ruper and a step-sister, Jennie Hangach.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 am in St. John the Evangelist RC Church, Connellsville with Rev. Robert Lubic as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors bestowed by Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post 446.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Excela Hospice 134 Industrial Park Road, Suite 1600 Greensburg, PA 15601.
