Michael Shirley

Michael Patrick Shirley, 44 of Lexington, KY passed away, Wednesday, June 5, 2019 with his mother at his side.  He was born February 11, 1975 in Cynthiana, KY a son of Paulette (Gismondi) Shirley of Lexington, KY and the late Robert A. Shirley.

At a young age, Michael was diagnosed with leukemia and defying all odds he graduated from Dunbar High School and earned a Culinary Degree from Jefferson Community College in Louisville, KY.  He had many interests including cooking and working with his hands, especially on cars, his favorite of which was a BMW.  He owned and operated a vintage toy store in Lexington dealing and trading toys and had a vast toy collection of his own. Michael also enjoyed going to Comic-Con, a good debate, yard sales, flea markets, Coca-Cola and a good meal.  He was also a very loyal individual and when he purchased any tool it had to be a Craftsman.   Above all, Michael will be remembered for his quick-wit and warm heart.

In addition to his loving and devoted mother, Paulette, he is survived by his three siblings, Robert Shirley, II; Nathan Shirley and Chamblee Marie Shirley; a nephew, Robert Shirley, III and a niece, Brooke Shirley. He is also survived by  several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Liturgy on Saturday, June 29 at 10 am at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale with Rev.
