Alverton

Phyllis J. Seaman, 92 of Alverton, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023.  She was born on July 17, 1931, in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Carl and Beulah (Baker) Johnson.

Phyllis lived her life with an adventurous spirit.  As a dedicated member of the Center Bethel Church of God, Phyllis served as an active participant within the congregation where she was a member of the Doers Sunday School Class.

She loved taking walks and going on car rides to explore new places. Known for her love of books, Phyllis was an avid reader, enjoyed dining out and cherished spending time at the Bridgeport Damn.  One of her greatest joys was babysitting her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter filled her heart with immense joy.

Phyllis also treasured visiting friends and relatives. Along with her daughter, Debra, one of her favorite pastimes was watching planes take off and land at Pittsburgh International Airport and watching the boats at the Yough Damn—both activities that never failed to bring excitement to their days.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Charles Seaman Sr., her son in law, William J. Roeder, and her brothers Richard M. Johnson (Esther), Daniel L. Johnson and Carl D. Johnson (Grace).

Phyllis leaves behind her beautiful family, her son, Robert C. Seaman, Jr; her daughter, Debra J. Roeder; her grandchildren, William Kenneth Seaman (Evelyn),  Sylvia Farrah (Mark), Heather DePalma (John), Shelly Kolar (Captain Sean of the US Army); her great-grandchildren, Landon and Tanner DePalma, Olivia and Vivian Seaman and Rosalyn and Cruz Farrah; her sister in law, Sandra Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private with interment in the Alverton Cemetery.  Arrangements are in the care of GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Scottdale. Memorials may be made to the Center Bethel Church of God 428 Ruffs Dale-Alverton Road, Alverton, PA 15612.  Online condolences are welcome at www.gjfuneral.com.
