Reva Beadling

April 9, 1928 — July 8, 2015

Reva Jane Beadling, 87, formerly of Scottdale, peacefully passed from her earthly life to her heavenly home Wednesday, July 8, 2015. She had been living at Arbutus Park Manor since July 2007, following a stroke in December 2005 and recently was also being cared for by Windber Hospice.
Reva Jane was born April 9, 1928, in Dayton, Ohio, to Randall Bailey Lyons and Carrie (Leichliter) Lyons. She was educated in the Rice School, a one room schoolhouse in Bullskin Township, graduated from Ramsay High School, Mt. Pleasant, in 1944, and graduated from Indiana State Teacher's College (now IUP) in 1948.
Reva Jane taught first grade in Hempfield Township Schools for two years before marrying Wesley DuShane Beadling in 1950. Following their marriage, she taught two more years, was a loving homemaker and then worked beside her husband as his dental assistant for a number of years.
Reva Jane's life was one of service to her church, Trinity United Methodist in Scottdale, where she served on committees, taught Sunday School and sang in the Chancel Choir for more than 50 years. In the community, she served on the Scottdale Public Library Board for 21 years; held membership in the Chapter No. 383 Order of Eastern Star; shared her love of music as a choir director for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls; was a member of the Braddock Trail Chapter of the USDAR, Mt. Pleasant, and was a part of the Bullskin Township Senior Center. She was such a blessing to her family and her friends.
Reva Jane is survived by three daughters, CoraLee (Raymond) Beal, Lou Ann (Joseph) Leighty and Wendy Jo (Thomas) Nagy; five granddaughters, Sara Beal (Nick) Letzo, Carrie Beal (Shayne) Wakinekona, Kristina Leighty (Rob) Keith, Kyrah Nagy and Brynne Nagy; and two great-grandchildren, Grace Alohi Pua Okalani Wakinekona and Wesley Alexander Keith. In addition to her parents, Reva Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Wesley D. Beadling, on June 14, 1999. "Throughout life, from a very young age, I was exposed to people who enriched my life and furthered my personal knowledge that faith in God is the most important thing in life," from Reva Jane's typed memories.
Family and friends will be received from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale.
