Robert Shallenberger

Robert E. “Buzz” Shallenberger, 83, of Scottdale passed from this life and was called from the work on April 17, 2022, after a heroic battle with cancer.

He was born in Dawson, PA to Laban J. and Sarah A.(Pratt) Shallenberger on July 23, 1938. Most of his working life was spent with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he rose from machinist apprentice to senior manufacturing engineer.

During the course of his life, he had membership in several local Methodist and Lutheran congregations. Buzz was also a member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 614. He was a kind, outgoing, gentle, laughter-loving man.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and his youngest son David.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Karen F. Dillinger Shallenberger; son Brent (Beth and Skylar); and daughter Marsha. He is also survived by brothers Howard (Marilyn) Shallenberger; and Edgar (Shirley) Shallenberger, both in Scottdale; and dear twin sister Bernice Eaby (the late Ray) of Lancaster.
