Ronald Santmyer

Ronald L. Santmyer, 66, of Scottdale, passed away, Sunday, February 27, 2011 in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born January 14, 1945 in Mt, Pleasant a son of the late Howard S. "Hub" Santmyer and Laura Belle "Sis" Culler Santmyer.
Ron was a US Navy Veteran and was a member of the Scottdale VFW Post, the Scottdale American Legion and the Scottdale Moose. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the Steelers and the Pirates. He also loved fishing and was known for playing the lottery.
Ron is survived by his loving family of, three sisters, Joyce Carnes of Mt. Pleasant; Karen Knopsnider and companion, Ken Connors of Mt. Pleasant; and Linda Bennette and husband Mark of Parker, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Santmyer and a sister, Melody Overly.
Family and friends will be received at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday from 10 am to 11am the time of funeral services in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp with military honors bestowed by the Southmoreland Veteran's Honor Guard.
