Roy Miner, Jr.

Roy “Unk” Miner, Jr, 89 of Scottdale, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 in Excela Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant.  He was born September 13, 1929 in Upper Tyrone Township a son of the late Roy Miner, Sr and Irene Martha (Eicher) Miner.

“Unk” as he was known to many, worked as a florist for the former DeMuth Floral Shop, Scottdale.  He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Everson and was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean conflict.  He also enjoyed the daily home-cooked meals at Wise’s Restaurant and the many friendships he formed there.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes G. (Rodgers) Miner and three sisters, Betty J. King, Phyllis J. Blystone and Dorothy L. (Dugger) Boyd.

Private services for the family are in the care of GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale.  Interment will take place in the Scottdale Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Fellowship Church 412 Painter St. Everson, PA 15631.  To send a message of condolence, please visit www.gfjuneral.com
