Sheila Singer

Sheila R. Singer, 37 of Derry, formerly of Scottdale, passed away, along with her son, John F. Smart, as the result of a tragic accident in Derry on Friday, October 30, 2009. Sheila was born April 27, 1972 in Mt. Pleasant a daughter of John F. and Joyce E. Barkley Lucas of Scottdale. She was a loving mother and homemaker and enjoyed raising and spending time with her children. She attended the City Church of Connellsville and was a graduate of Southmoreland High School Class of 1990. Sheila will be lovingly missed and remembered by her parents, John and Joyce Lucas; her fiancAC., Elmer W. Smart of Derry; her four daughters, Ashlie and Samantha Singer of Champion and Mindy and Elisha Smart at home; two sisters, Teresa Hogan of Ruffsdale and Lisa Sembower of Connellsville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, John F. Smart; a sister, Sharon Lucas; maternal grandparents, Willis and Dorothy (Barkley) Knight; and paternal grandparents, John and Jean (Myers) Lucas. Family and friends are welcome on Monday 5-8 pm ] at the City Church, 206 N Pittsburgh St. Connellsville where services will be held Tuesday at 11 am in the church with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Chapel committal services and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
